Pricing Tiers by Country

Registration for the DFD Meeting will be available at the following scaled tiers as long as the funds set aside to support this effort remain available. Once all funds are distributed, these discounts will end:


LICs and LMICs will receive a 89% discount

UMICs will receive a 72% discount

APS developed these tiers using a ratio between the registration fees and the average GDP per capita (in PPP$).


APS DFD Welcomes You!

The DFD Annual Meeting is one of the largest conferences in fluid dynamics, with more than 3,500 attendees expected from around the world. The objective is to promote the advancement and dissemination of knowledge in all areas of fluid dynamics. Students, postdoctoral researchers, university faculty, and researchers across government and industry are encouraged to share the latest developments in the field.

* Members of APS Reciprocal Societies may register at the Regular APS member rate only. You can complete registration online or you can fax the pre-registration form located on the meeting website. Reciprocal Society Students must contact registrar@aps.org for special instructions on how to register.

 ** Student Registrants: APS student members may register for the meeting online at a discounted member rate. If you are not an APS member, you can JOIN NOW online. If you do not wish to become an APS member, you must pay non-member rates. First-year membership is free for first-time students.

 **+ Undergraduate Student Registrants: Your registration does not include a ticket to the Sunday night reception, however a reception ticket(s) may be purchased during the registration process.


Smithsonian National Air & Space Museum Visit

Join us for a free, private visit to the National Air & Space Museum on Monday night. All meeting attendees and their guests are welcome. The meeting badge will serve as your entry pass. Guests must visit the onsite Registration Desk to obtain a guest meeting badge before the Registration Desk closes on Monday. There will not be any food or beverage at this event.


Cancellations

All registration cancellations and refund requests must be made in writing by November 1, 2023. A refund of the full conference fee, minus a $50 administrative fee, will be given for cancellations received by November 1, 2023. No refunds will be granted for requests submitted on or after November 2, 2023. Submit all requests to the APS registrar at registrar@aps.org and abs-help@aps.org if you are speaking or presenting. APS regrets that refunds will not be given for no-shows.

  • ATTENDEE LIABILITY WAIVER, RELEASE, AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK: COVID-19

    Relating to the global COVID-19 pandemic, Attendee acknowledges the highly contagious nature of COVID-19 and voluntarily assumes the risk of exposure or infection by attending the American Physical Society (APS) Annual Meeting, and that such exposure or infection may result in personal injury, illness, disability, and/or death to Attendee. Attendee understands that the risk of becoming exposed to or infected by COVID-19 at this APS Meeting may result from the actions, omissions, or negligence of others who may attend the event or their families, colleagues, or others with whom they may have contact. Accordingly, Attendee understands and agrees that this release includes any claims based on the actions, omissions, or negligence of the APS and their parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, directors, officials, employees, agents, volunteers, and representatives, whether a COVID-19 infection occurs before, during, or after participation in this APS Meeting. In addition to all other rules and regulations relating to Attendee’s attendance at this APS Meeting, In-Person attendees agree to comply with all COVID-related procedures that may be implemented by APS and the location of the meeting, including, but not limited to, mask-wearing and social distancing requirements and restrictions on certain activities that carry higher COVID-related risk, to protect, as much as possible, the health and safety of all attendees.


    APS Recommends:


    1. Being Up To Date according to CDC Guidelines* against COVID-19 prior to attending the meeting with a vaccine approved by the World Health Organization (ie., Pfizer/BioNTech, Johnson and Johnson/Janssen, Moderna, AstraZeneca/Oxford, Covishield, Covaxin, Sinopharm, Sinovac, Covovax, or Nuvaxovid) CDC Vaccination Guidance; and,


    2. Receiving a self-monitored or pharmacy supervised negative COVID-19 test within 24 hours prior to entering the meeting facility or a PCR negative COVID-19 test within 3 days prior to entering the meeting facility. Attendee acknowledges and represents that Attendee's in-person participation in this APS Meeting is voluntary.


    Attendee assumes all risks and accepts sole responsibility for any injury (including, but not limited to, personal injury, disability, and death), illness, damage, loss, claim, liability, or expense, of any kind, that Attendee may experience or incur in connection with attending this APS Meeting.


    ON BEHALF OF THE ATTENDEE AND ATTENDEES’ CHILDREN, SPOUSE, LEGAL REPRESENTATIVES, AND HEIRS AND ASSIGNS, THE ATTENDEE HEREBY RELEASES, COVENANTS NOT TO SUE, DISCHARGES, AND HOLDS HARMLESS THE AMERICAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY (APS) AND THEIR PARENTS, SUBSIDIARIES, AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, OFFICIALS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, VOLUNTEERS, AND REPRESENTATIVES, OF AND FROM ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, INCLUDING ALL LIABILITIES, CLAIMS, ACTIONS, DAMAGES, COSTS, OR EXPENSES OF ANY KIND, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO ATTENDEE’S PARTICIPATION IN THIS AMERICAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY MEETING.


    Attendee understands and agrees that the law of the State of Maryland will govern this Waiver, Release, and Assumption of Risk. By completing this registration, all In-Person Attendees acknowledge that they have carefully read and fully understand this Waiver, Release, and Assumption of Risk and knowingly assume the risks described above and waives In-Person Attendee’s rights concerning liability as described above. APS is continuously monitoring current transmission rates and CDC guidance and may modify its practices ahead of this meeting.
