* Members of APS Reciprocal Societies may register at the Regular APS member rate only. This can be done either online or via fax.

 

** Student Registrants: APS student members may register for the Meeting online at a discounted member rate. If you are not an APS member, you can you can JOIN NOW online. If you do not wish to become an APS member, you must pay non-member rates. First-year membership is free for first-time students.

Cancellations

 

Requests for cancellations will be honored through October 15, 2021, and processed minus a $50 administrative fee. Cancellations must be sent in writing to registrar@aps.org. After October 15, 2021, registration fees are non-refundable.

  • ATTENDEE LIABILITY WAIVER, RELEASE, AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK: COVID 19


    Relating to the global COVID-19 pandemic, Attendee acknowledges the highly contagious nature of COVID-19 and voluntarily assumes the risk of exposure or infection by attending the DFD Annual Meeting, and that such exposure or infection may result in personal injury, illness, disability, and/or death to Attendee. Attendee understands that the risk of becoming exposed to or infected by COVID-19 at the DFD Annual Meeting may result from the actions, omissions, or negligence of others who may attend the event or their families, colleagues, or others with whom they may have contact. Accordingly, Attendee understands and agrees that this release includes any claims based on the actions, omissions, or negligence of the American Physical Society and the Division of Fluid Dynamics and their parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, directors, officials, employees, agents, volunteers, and representatives, whether a COVID-19 infection occurs before, during, or after participation in the DFD Annual Meeting.

    In addition to all other rules and regulations relating to Attendee’s attendance at the DFD Annual Meeting, In-Person attendees agree to:


    • 1. Being fully vaccinated* against COVID-19 prior to attending the meeting with a vaccine approved by the World Health Organization (ie., Pfizer/BioNTech, Johnson and Johnson/Janssen, Moderna, AstraZeneca/Oxford, Sinopharm or Sinovac); and


    • 2. Submit the results of a negative PCR COVID test taken within 3 days of Saturday, November 20, 2021. These results must be uploaded by attendees before Saturday, November 20, 2021.

    

    • 3. Attestation to their vaccination status prior to the meeting by uploading vaccination card or information through a process to be established by APS.


    • 4. Agree to comply with all COVID-related procedures that may be implemented by DFD and the Phoenix Convention Center, including, but not limited to, mask-wearing and social distancing requirements and restrictions on certain activities that carry higher COVID-related risk, to protect, as much as possible, the health and safety of all DFD attendees.


    *People are considered fully vaccinated two weeks after their second shot of the Pfizer-BioNtech, Moderna, AstraZeneca/Oxford, Sinopharm, or Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine, or two weeks after the single-dose J&J/Janssen COVID-19 vaccine.


    Attendee acknowledges and represents that Attendee’s in-person participation in the American Physical Society Division of Fluid Dynamics Meeting is voluntary.


    Attendee assumes all risks and accepts sole responsibility for any injury (including, but not limited to, personal injury, disability, and death), illness, damage, loss, claim, liability, or expense, of any kind, that Attendee may experience or incur in connection with attending the American Physical Society Division of Fluid Dynamics Meeting.


    ON BEHALF OF ATTENDEE AND ATTENDEES’ CHILDREN, SPOUSE, LEGAL REPRESENTATIVES, AND HEIRS AND ASSIGNS, ATTENDEE HEREBY RELEASES, COVENANTS NOT TO SUE, DISCHARGES, AND HOLDS HARMLESS THE AMERICAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY (APS) AND THE DIVISION OF FLUID DYNAMICS (DFD) AND THEIR PARENTS, SUBSIDIARIES, AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, OFFICIALS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, VOLUNTEERS, AND REPRESENTATIVES, OF AND FROM ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, INCLUDING ALL LIABILITIES, CLAIMS, ACTIONS, DAMAGES, COSTS, OR EXPENSES OF ANY KIND, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO ATTENDEE’S PARTICIPATION IN THE AMERICAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY DIVISION OF FLUID DYNAMICS MEETING.


    Attendee understands and agrees that the law of the State of Maryland will govern this Waiver, Release, and Assumption of Risk.


    By completing this registration, all In-Person Attendees acknowledge that they have carefully read and fully understand this Waiver, Release, and Assumption of Risk and knowingly assume the risks described above and waives In-Person Attendee’s rights concerning liability as described above.
